A poem for my five year old on her birthday.

Since it’s national poetry day here in England, I’ve put together a little poem for my birthday girl who is, at five years old, the most imaginative story teller I know, so it seemed fitting to have a little fun and create a poem of my own:)

For Emma.

Where your sister looks for facts
She’s thoughtful, knowing and kind

You search beyond the tracks
Eyes wide open, such an imaginative mind

She is six, a thinker and oh so artsy
You are five, our tinker and oh so crafty

Her mind ticks, she’s competitive and sweet
Your mind races, you’re courageous and neat

At times such a terrible twosome, others,
two peas in a pod

Your minds and smiles light up the room, even when,
You’re both in the land of nod

Happy birthday sweetheart, time really does fly when you’re having fun… Love mummy, daddy, sister and pup xxx
